Yesterday afternoon, in the presence of the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, the Technical and Economic Feasibility Project for the New Padua East Hospital Complex was presented at the Aula Magna of the city’s health centre. President Zaia said, «This is a historic day, because the new polyclinic in Padua East will be of international level and, together with the existing Giustinianeo, will become the first in Italy for number of beds, 1,682, and the most modern in Europe. We will open it by 2031».

Politecnica (group leader), ATI Project, Cooprogetti Soc. Coop. and Techint  together for the Economic Technical Feasibility design of the new Veneto hospital.

The new structure will occupy an area of approximately 212,000 square metres within the San Lazzaro district, will have 963 beds (90 intensive care), as well as 45 technological operating theatres, a multifunctional plate, buildings for inpatient and outpatient activities, a research tower and a service hub. The new health centre also aims to be a ‘Park Hospital’ surrounded by more than 250,000 square metres of green areas, woods, and rows of trees, aiming at high standards of environmental sustainability. The new health centre will be technologically advanced, welcoming and comfortable, characterised by high energy performance, thanks to a careful choice of materials and technologies; designed for patients and workers, it will become a point of reference for the community and for the entire Italian health system.
