The energy, seismic, and environmental redevelopment of the ERP housing estates in San Eustachio – Sub B aims to enhance the public residential building stock by improving energy efficiency, resilience, seismic safety, and overall quality of life within the urban fabric.
In Salerno’s eastern district, the project comes to life thanks to the regional program “Safe, Green, and Social.” Cooprogetti oversaw the Construction Management, supervising every phase of the intervention and delivering to the city a renewed, safer, and more sustainable neighborhood. From an architectural and urban perspective, the project stands out for several key design choices:
-
Seismic safety: targeted interventions on non-structural elements reduce risk without altering the original layout of the buildings.
-
Energy efficiency: each building achieves Class B performance thanks to thermal insulation, floor slab insulation, condensing boilers, and mechanical ventilation systems with heat recovery.
-
Public space regeneration: small squares and parking areas become permeable surfaces, urban greenery is increased in both quantity and quality, and a previously unused area is transformed into a fully equipped playground.
-
Enhancement of the urban landscape: tree-lined avenues, new street furniture, LED lighting, and cycling paths give identity and harmony to the entire district.
Every design choice reflects the commitment to integrating architecture, public space, and the environment, going beyond mere building renovation to foster genuine social regeneration, restoring identity, beauty, and quality of life to the neighborhood.
