Hydrological and hydraulic study in support of the structural plan of Mugello

The hydrological-hydraulic study for the Unione Montana dei Comuni del Mugello supports the Intermunicipal Structural Plan. It was prepared to assess flood risk in planned urban areas for flood events with return periods of 30 and 200 years. The area of interest was divided into “Tuscan” and “Romagna” basins, followed by analyses and assessments of flood risk presence in relation to the forecasts of the new urban planning tool. Using the HEC-RAS software, version 5.0.5, it was possible to appropriately evaluate the effects of flood peak attenuation related to the natural floodplain areas of the watercourse.
