The new design hub conceived by Cooprogetti is an opportunity to redevelop a disused industrial area on the outskirts of the city of Gubbio in a hinge area between the historic center and the early countryside. A place to think, design and live. The pole, a space for meeting and discussion that develops around the tree-lined square, the green heart of the regeneration project, is configured as a true city of research, sustainability, innovation and creativity.
The general focuses of the new design hub are about: urban regeneration (9,600 square meters of land area), the intervention, maintains the historical identity of the buildings that compose it and opens the interior spaces in a new relationship of transparencies favoring dialogue between different disciplinary areas, sharing and teamwork. The spaces are configured following principles of cooperation, visibility and transparency. The pole enhances and integrates the main features of an industrial architecture conceived in the 1980s, with the most recent requirements of environmental, social and functional sustainability; youth employment (120 professionals of whom more than 50% are under 35), Cooprogetti believes in the professional integration of young people, in the enhancement of their skills through on site and off site experiences of design and management, in continuous relationship with the most important national university poles; economic development (work portfolio doubled in the last three years equal to 45ML); social inclusion (1. 500 square meters of equipped green areas available to citizens, planting of a company garden); energy sustainability (photovoltaic park of 90 Kwh).
The inauguration will take place on Sept. 24, 2022, at 6 p.m. at Cooprogetti’s headquarters (Via Thomas Alva Edison, 5 Gubbio), Cooprogetti President Alessandro Placucci, Gubbio Mayor Filippo Mario Stirati, and Bishop Luciano Paolucci Bedini of Gubbio will speak.
