S.S. 106 ‘JONICA’ – Works to connect the SS 106 (km 0+000) to the SS 106 var/a km (17+000) relating to the upgrading of the S.P. 16 (road category C1)
The project involves connecting the SS 106 to the SS 106 var/a bypass, with upgrades to the SP 16 (road category C1) aimed at improving traffic flow and safety along this strategic stretch. The work involves widening the existing road along the SP 16, from the “Simeri” roundabout to km 852.40. At kilometre 0+392.50, there will be a connection between the main road and the secondary road (VS.01), while an additional connection (VS.02) will allow for safer traffic flow between the S.P.16 and the accesses to some private properties on the right side of the road.
The project also includes some works to support the functionality and safety of the road:
- two retaining walls to close off the previous access to the So.Ri.Cal. premises;
- a channel for water laminating;
- a 1.50 m wide guard ditch.
The project as a whole will strengthen the road network, improve safety and ensure a more efficient connection between the S.S. 106 and the secondary roads in the area.
