OICE presented the eighth report on digitisation in the construction sector and BIM tenders 2024.
In the focus by Elisa Crimi (Cooprogetti), a clear picture emerges: digital transformation is underway, but uneven. Contracting authorities are improving thanks to the new Procurement Code, but maturity is still insufficient. Designers are adopting advanced technologies, but are hampered by poor interoperability. Enterprises, especially SMEs, lag behind and need training and support.

The future?
BIM professionals, Digital Twin, AI and sustainability will drive demand. What is needed now is a unified vision and structural investments in order not to miss the innovation train.
