Interventions aimed at reducing hydraulic risk and environmental restoration in the basins of the Topino river and Chiona torrent – 1st section 2nd lot – Securing the city of Foligno

The objective of the project is the hydraulic safety of the City of Foligno (PG) with respect to flood events with a 50-year return time. To this end, measures will be implemented to recalibrate the riverbed in the urban section with the lowering of the bottom and relative alluvial areas; this will also involve lowering the threshold of an existing river crossing. Since the piedmont and valley section of the Topino River upstream of Foligno does not present suitable sites for compensation reservoirs, structural interventions with expansion tanks have been planned downstream of Foligno and of the confluence with the Chiona Torrent and upstream of the town of Cannara, in order to ensure compliance with the principle of hydraulic invariance.
