SGC Grosseto-Fano (E78) – Arezzo Junction (S. Zeno) to Selci Lama (E45) Section. Widening to 4 lanes of the Le Ville – Selci Lama (E45) Section. Section 4 – Lot 7
The project is part of a complex set of interventions, partly completed and partly underway for upgrading and completing the E78 Grosseto–Fano route, designed to establish a transversal connection between the Tuscany, Umbria, and Marche regions. The intervention in question belongs to Section 4 and spans several municipalities in the Umbria and Tuscany regions, specifically Anghiari (AR), Monterchi (AR), Citerna (PG), Città di Castello (PG), and San Giustino (PG). The alignment is mainly a bypass of the existing four-lane S.S. 73 Senese Aretina.
Specifically, the portion under consideration lies between two sections of the E78: the western section, already upgraded, begins at Colle del Gallo, west of Palazzo del Pero, and ends at Le Ville di Monterchi; the eastern section starts near the E45 from Selci Lama to Parnacciano, which falls under Section 5 of the E78 route and is currently in the final design phase. In this context, the project can be considered a functional component of the completion of the “Due Mari” upgrade for the entire Le Ville di Monterchi – Selci Lama section.
