Riberalta biomass plant and its integration into the isolated system of Riberalta-Guayaramerin
The rural urban centers of Riberalta and Guayaramerin are located in the Amazon Forest on the border with Brazil. Currently, the two towns are electrically powered by endothermic diesel power plants. The project will tend to overcome the current environmental impact of emissions from diesel engines.
The project involves the implementation of a new woody biomass cogeneration plant from dedicated tree crops. The potential is 20 MW electric with the possibility of doubling. The new power plant will be located in a central position between the two towns and the potential is sufficient to completely replace the current energy sources.
