Restoration and seismic upgrading of Pavilion W of the Monteluce Education Centre
Executive project for the restoration and seismic upgrading of Pavilion W (building P03E7) of the Monteluce didactic pole, located in via del Giochetto in Perugia. The renovation of building P03E7 is a strategic element of the Masterplan for the creation of the new university campus in Via del Giochetto, which includes the construction of a lecture hall, student spaces and a biotechnology platform with state-of-the-art laboratories. The project is divided into three phases, each dedicated to one of the building’s three bodies (C02, C01 and C03), with the aim of redeveloping the structure to house laboratories, offices and research areas. The departments of Chemistry, Biology and Biotechnology (DCBB) and of Pharmaceutical Sciences (DSF), both recognised as centres of excellence in the 2018 MIUR competition, will be housed in this hub. The intervention will enable the settlement of at least 200 people including students, PhD students and researchers active in the teaching and research activities of the DCBB and DSF departments, guaranteeing functional and modern spaces. The restoration and renovation work includes the demolition of a structure built in the 1980s, which was previously used as a cafeteria and warehouse, and a portion of the existing building. The planned interventions also include the restoration of the external facades, the construction of a photovoltaic roof and the seismic adaptation of the existing buildings.
