Redevelopment of Iseo’s Lungolago Marconi

The redevelopment project of the Marconi lakefront has recovered the potential inherent in the place through a new conformation of the “walk” revisited albeit respecting the existing structure, aiming to offer renewed opportunities for use of space. The objective of the project is to ensure the continuity of the walk-in order to optimize and enhance the route and perception, so that it becomes a unified system that acts as a privileged view of the historic city on the lake. The project establishes a close relationship between land and water, changing the use of the lake according to perspectives of transversal approach to the coast, guaranteed by cantilevered slabs that protrude on the lake, rest areas and views where you can enjoy the lake landscape, the original relationship between the settlement systems and water. The walk, made with light gray Beola tiles is punctuated by transversal courses places at regular intervals made of washed stone laid in straight rows. In this way, a rhythmic scanning of the space is detected while maintaining the homogeneity of the surface. The reconstruction of the walk is completed by the green arrangement of the adjacent area that is a filter able to protect the pedestrian path from road traffic while maintaining the connection through the draining pavements. The project meets the need to reserve the part next to the settlement system at the service of seasonal catering activities through employment with dehors.
