New Assi Viaduct on SS 106 Jonica – Construction of the downstream carriageway of the bridge over the Assi River – Second section

The project involved the detailed and executive design of the new downstream carriageway of the Assi Bridge, an infrastructure representing a significant enhancement of mobility along SS 106 Jonica. The new roadway is designed to connect the new bridge over the Assi River, located along SS 106 Jonica, constructed downstream of the existing structure and upstream of the current railway line. The design has been developed to ensure traffic continuity, avoiding any interruption on the existing road. The functional upgrade of the route includes widening the carriageway to accommodate the expected increase in traffic along SS 106. The new platform will consist of a single carriageway with two lanes (one per direction) of 3.75 m each, with 1.50 m shoulders on both sides, for a total width of 10.50 m, in accordance with Road Category C1.
