Industrial Potassium Salts Production Plant

One of the world’s largest reserves of lithium, potassium, boron, and magnesium is found in the Daniel Campos province of the Department of Potosí in southwestern Bolivia. Thanks to recent preliminary studies, the Mining Corporation of Bolivia (COMIBOL), which is responsible for the exploitation of mineral resources in the country, decided to carry out the design of an industrial plant in the Salar de Uyuni to obtain potassium salts, with a product quality of 95 percent and a production capacity of 350,000 tons per year. The plant went into production in 2018.
