Adriatic Cycle route
The Project of the Adriatic Cycle Route runs for a total length of about 987 kilometers through 6 regions, 17 provinces, and 98 municipalities and affects a vast and complex territory both from an urban and environmental point of view. The Regions affected by the intervention including Marche (leader), Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Abruzzo, Molise, and Puglia, given the complexity of the work to be carried out, have evaluated to start a collaboration through an Agreement and the establishment of a Technical Table. The tourist cycle route develops along the Adriatic coast; it is an almost totally flat route that crosses areas of coastal urban conurbation consisting of large centers, medium and small and also naturalistic and landscape areas of high environmental value and widely recognized (Po Delta Park, Comacchio Valleys, Conero Regional Park, Gargano National Park). The project of the Ciclovia Adriatica, unique in its size, adapts to the dual function of tourist cycling and infrastructure for sustainable urban-interurban mobility.
