The redevelopment project of Piazza Turi Ferro, in the heart of Catania’s historic centre, is transforming the square into a regenerated, permeable and welcoming urban space, designed to foster social interaction, leisure and community participation.
Cooprogetti, responsible for both the design and the site management, coordinated the intervention together with Mate Engineering and Technital, ensuring full consistency between the original concept and its execution.
Pedestrianisation, new tree planting, expanded green areas, upgraded lighting and urban furnishings all contribute to creating an inclusive, sustainable and contemporary environment, where tradition and innovation interact harmoniously.
The works are now in their final stages: the lawn has been laid and the opening is scheduled for October, ahead of the planned timeline.
This intervention represents a strategic step in the regeneration of the historic centre, contributing to a city that is more liveable, resilient and open to its community.
