The Environmental impact report of the operating phase of the Thermal Power Plant of Río Turbio (CTRT) was developed for the public company Yacimientos Carboníferos Río Turbio, situated in the extreme southwest of the Province of Santa Cruz, in Argentina. This study makes it possible to implement the coal-fired power plant with the least possible environmental impact, after the approval of the provincial environmental authorities.
The Power plant will produce 240 MW for the Argentinian System of interconnection (SADI), providing a considerable contribution to the national production of electric power. The realisation of the CTRT is a historical event for Argentina, as it will finally truly integrate the entire continental territory in the SADI.
