Work continues on the construction of the downstream carriageway of the Assi Bridge, whose Final and Executive Project was developed by Cooprogetti Soc. The new roadway is designed to connect the new bridge over the Assi River, located along the SS 106 Jonica, built downstream of the existing structure and upstream of the current railway line. The project is designed to ensure traffic continuity, avoiding any interruption on the existing road. The functional enhancement of the track includes the widening of the roadway to handle the increasing traffic expected along the SS 106. The new platform will consist of a single carriageway with two lanes (one in each direction) of 3.75 m each, and 1.50 m side verges on both sides, for a total width of 10.50 m, falling under Road Category C1.
