The testing works for the new Ponte Assi, an infrastructure that represents an important upgrade of the road network along the SS 106 Jonica, have been completed.
The Final and Executive Project, signed by Cooprogetti Soc. Coop., provided for the construction of a new carriageway downstream of the existing bridge and upstream of the railway line, with the aim of guaranteeing traffic continuity during all construction phases and minimising the impact on local mobility. The new bridge is part of a wider plan to upgrade the SS 106 road, aimed at responding to the expected increase in traffic volumes. The work has been designed according to the C1 Road Category standards, and includes a road platform with a total length of 10.50 metres, consisting of a single carriageway with two lanes of 3.75 m each and 1.50 m side verges. The completion marks an important step towards the full operation of the track, significantly improving the safety and fluidity of traffic in the area.
