Cooprogetti strengthens its commitment to social inclusion by joining Fundación Espartanos, an Argentine organization that, since 2009, has been transforming the lives of incarcerated individuals by offering them a chance at redemption through rugby, education, spirituality, and job reintegration. The program, based on an integrated approach, is replicated by volunteers in 44 prisons across Argentina and in 16 institutions in six other countries: Chile, El Salvador, Spain, Kenya, Peru, and Uruguay. The goal is to provide a second chance to those who have served their sentence, reducing the risk of recidivism and facilitating a positive reintegration into society.

Thanks to this partnership, five former inmates are now employed at Cooprogetti’s Buenos Aires headquarters, demonstrating how access to the labor market can be a turning point in the lives of those who have experienced difficult circumstances.

A life-changing model
The Espartano program is an innovative project that, through rugby and personalized support, aims to reduce the recidivism rate from 65% to 5%, while promoting a culture based on work and education. The Foundation’s intervention methodology is built on three key pillars:

  • Sport and spirituality, to foster discipline, respect, and a sense of belonging.
  • Education and technical training, to provide concrete skills and facilitate social reintegration.
  • Job placement, to create employment opportunities and support the reintegration of former inmates.

A commitment to the future
Cooprogetti firmly believes that true inclusion comes through work and the opportunity for redemption. Joining Fundación Espartanos is not just a statement of intent but a concrete action that opens new prospects for those who have faced marginalization.

This initiative perfectly aligns with Cooprogetti’s corporate values, as the company has always promoted social responsibility projects aimed at fostering growth and community inclusion. Thanks to synergies like this, change becomes real and tangible, transforming the past into a new beginning.
