On Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the City Palace – Cava de’ Tirreni, the executive project of the intervention of “DECONGESTION OF THE SS 18: PROLONGATION FROM VIA P. ATENOLFI TO VIA P. SANTORIELLO” entrusted to the RTP formed by RPA srl, Cooprogetti Soc. Coop, Emilio Maiorino & Partners was presented.<\/p>\n

The new Urban Project represents a work of relevant urban planning and functional strategy of the northern area of the Center of Cava de’ Tirreni.<\/p>\n

Present at the presentation were Mayor Vincenzo Servalli; Deputy Mayor Nunzio Senatore; Regional Councilor and Chairman of the IV Commission on Urban Planning, Public Works and Transportation Luca Cascone; Arch. Emilio Maiorino representing the Temporary Business Grouping that was awarded the contract, who explained the overall project idea, the areas involved in the project, and the qualitative spin-off that will benefit the entire city. Within a year, the executive project that is eligible for funding will be defined for the bidding and implementation of the work.<\/p>\n

On the railway line will be the construction of green equipped plates, urban parks and new services with parking, bike-sharing and bike-train interchange zones. The freeway will constitute in its route a new HUB for the “Quarry of the Future.” In the future, the current SS18 highway will be used for more urban and “slow” traffic, while in the northern part of the city the road axis will end at Via Santoriello near the current Sports Hall.<\/p>\n

The project, as a whole, aims at sustainability strategies and goals that see Cava de’ Tirreni projected toward the smart city concept.<\/p>\n
