A new space dedicated to the city is taking shape in Gragnano. With the start of work on Parco della Bellezza, the area along Via Vittorio Veneto will undergo a major urban regeneration project designed to bring together sport, culture and spaces for social interaction. The \u20ac5 million investment, with construction works amounting to approximately \u20ac3.9 million, aims to restore a central role to a part of the urban fabric that is currently underused. The project, developed by the temporary consortium (RTP) formed by Cooprogetti Soc. Coop., as lead partner, and DS2 Progetti S.r.l., as partner, will centre on the Sports Hall, covering approximately 1,650 m\u00b2, with changing rooms, facilities, technical rooms, a bar area and seating for around 340 spectators. The facility is designed to accommodate a range of sports and achieve CONI Silver certification. A new Theatre\/Auditorium will be built in the area in front of it, replacing the existing geodesic structure. The approximately 670 m\u00b2 building will feature a 260-seat auditorium, stage, foyer and technical control room. The existing former changing-room spaces will be refurbished and connected to the new building to accommodate services and dressing rooms for artists. Linking the two buildings will be a new square, conceived not simply as a passageway but as a genuine meeting place. Permeable paving, pedestrian paths, seating and new trees will help create a more open and accessible environment, alongside the reorganisation of the parking area with 27 car spaces and 8 spaces for mopeds. The aim is to expand the range of services and make the park a space for everyday use, not only during events, integrating the new facilities with the park\u2019s existing functions and leisure areas. The project also focuses on efficiency and sustainability through a photovoltaic system of approximately 96 kW, solar thermal technology, VRF systems with heat recovery, LED lighting and intelligent building-services management systems. The result will be a new system of public spaces and services, where sport meets culture and the square becomes the connecting element. The project goes beyond the construction of two new buildings: it redesigns the relationship between Parco della Bellezza and the city, creating a place designed to be enjoyed throughout the day. Representing Cooprogetti at the laying of the foundation stone were architect Domenico De Maio and engineer Marianna Senatore.
