{"id":10278,"date":"2024-11-19T12:38:09","date_gmt":"2024-11-19T12:38:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooprogetti.it\/seminar-climate-change-water-technologies-and-infrastructure-between-mitigation-and-adaptation\/"},"modified":"2024-11-19T12:38:09","modified_gmt":"2024-11-19T12:38:09","slug":"seminar-climate-change-water-technologies-and-infrastructure-between-mitigation-and-adaptation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooprogetti.it\/en\/seminar-climate-change-water-technologies-and-infrastructure-between-mitigation-and-adaptation\/","title":{"rendered":"Seminar: &#8220;Climate change: water technologies and infrastructure between mitigation and adaptation&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 8 November 2024, an important conference was held in Arezzo, organised by the Order of Engineers of Arezzo and, in particular, by the coordinator of the Soil Protection Commission Engineer Remo Chiarini, in collaboration with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DICEA) of the University of Florence, on the crucial topic of &#8220;<em>Climate Change: water technologies and infrastructures between mitigation and adaptation&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>During the seminar, engineers <strong>Remo Chiarini<\/strong> and <strong>Andrea Chiarini<\/strong> presented two emblematic case studies on water infrastructures<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the project for the rehabilitation of a dam in Cortona (AR), currently being assessed by the Superior Council of Public Works and subject to a state EIA procedure<\/li>\n<li>the project for the decommissioning of a dam in Giano dell&#8217;Umbria (PG).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The event was well attended, with about 140 professionals in the room, including engineers, architects, geologists, agronomists and foresters. Of particular note was the active participation of a large representation of the academic world with lecturers from the Milan Polytechnic and the Universities of Padua, Bologna, Florence and Perugia. These included a number of eminent representatives in the field of scientific research in the fields of hydrology and hydraulic constructions, such as <b><strong>Prof.<\/strong><\/b> <b><strong>Andrea Rinaldo<\/strong><\/b> (University of Padua), winner of the Stockholm Water Prize 2023 (equivalent to the \u2018Nobel Prize for Water\u2019), <b><strong>Prof.<\/strong><\/b> <b><strong>Armando Brath<\/strong><\/b> (University of Bologna), President of the Italian Hydrotechnical Association, and <b><strong>Prof. Luigi Da Deppo<\/strong><\/b> (University of Padua), member of the Superior Council of Public Works and expert on dams.
