New Headquarters of the National Library of Archaeology and Art History in Rome – Architectural Restoration and Reorganisation Project<\/h2>\n<\/div>

The Project for Restoration and Outfitting of the National Library of Archaeology and History of Art in Rome \u2018Functional Architectural Project\u2019, donated by architect Mario Botta to the Presidency of the Republic, aims to transform the complex into a modern and functional library centre, dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the book and archival heritage of one of Italy’s most prestigious public libraries, currently housed between Palazzo Venezia and the Sala della Crociera of the Collegio Romano, a few steps from the Quirinale and the Trevi Fountain. This 8,000 square metre space will offer an ideal environment for scientific research and cultural dissemination, integrating traditional library functions with 12 km of shelving, as well as spaces for events and educational activities, such as an auditorium, workshop rooms and exhibition routes. Specialised workshops will delve into book restoration, strengthening the library’s role as a centre of excellence for archaeology and art history in Rome. This will create a cultural pole of national and international importance, where scholars, enthusiasts and the curious will be able to learn, share ideas and browse through precious volumes and documents dedicated to art, archaeology and the decorative arts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
